Meta’s list is an eco-friendly online hub for people with broad horizons and an active spirit. It is a space where we highlight individuals, ideas, and projects that drive change in our time and environment.
Meta’s list is an independent Slovenian online media outlet that has been producing content since 2012, dedicated to quality journalism, science communication, and a deeper understanding of social dynamics. Our mission is to foster informed public debate, strengthen media literacy, and advocate for democratic values, the rule of law, media freedom, human rights, and responsible communication.
At Meta’s list, we explore, challenge, and sometimes provoke. We are a team of experts from various fields – observers of the world that intrigues, worries, and inspires us. We believe it’s possible to create content that is intelligent, in-depth, and accessible – without falling into sensationalism or clickbait simplicity.
Our focus? Media, the European Union, science, politics, and society. We dig beneath the surface, connect the dots, and ask the questions others sometimes prefer to skip. We highlight patterns, dissect statements, and look for context where others stop at the like button.
We focus on topics that are often complex – but crucial: EU affairs, national politics, science and research, the fight against disinformation, and gender equality. Furthermore, we approach them through inclusive language, respect for facts, and a commitment to pluralism. We believe public dialogue should be grounded in knowledge, not noise.
Meta’s list is a space for the curious. For those who want to understand what’s really going on – and why it matters.
We produce podcasts, write articles, create explainers, commentaries, analyses, and fact-checks. Furthermore, we experiment with new media formats while remaining committed to high professional standards and editorial integrity. Our content is co-created with journalists, scientists, activists, researchers, creators, and others who believe that public discourse matters – and that it should be used responsibly.
Our editorial work is guided by values we consider fundamental: freedom of expression, equality, professionalism, transparency, inclusion, and core European values such as solidarity, justice, and respect for human dignity.
Our audience is made up of curious, engaged individuals – from early-career researchers to journalists, from students to policymakers. People who want to understand what’s happening in the world – and why it matters. With Meta’s list, we aim to meet their need for content that is not only informative, but also explanatory, inspiring, and thought-provoking.
We create a space in between – connecting academia, media, civil society, and politics. A space free from false dilemmas and manipulation, full of questions that encourage critical thinking.
We collaborate with educational institutions, NGOs, researchers, and European institutions. Our activities include workshops on media literacy and public speaking, podcast production trainings, and projects that explore how gender, media, science, and politics shape public discourse.
Meta’s list is more than a website. It’s a space – for reflection, for questions, for (respectful) debate. And most of all: for those who still believe that good content can change the world.
